My name is Cory Williams, I am a Production Coordinator for Black N Animated; I am beyond excited to be a part of an organization that is helping up and coming artists into the animation industry. In my role I assist various managers in creating memos, taking notes and on occasion responding to emails. I am from the Bay Area where I got my Bachelors in Animation/Illustration from San Jose State University in 2017. I have loved animation ever since I was kid and to this day am consistently inspired by the evolution of it. It has been my dream to create my own show
to inspire young black youth to continue to believe in their own aspirations.

Even though my love for animation never wavered I often felt like an outcast amongst my peers as I barely saw any artist who looked like me. More importantly, there were little to no stories being told from the black diaspora which contributed further to my feeling of alienation.

I want to change that! Joining Black N Animated is so important because it gives a lot of resources to the black populous who want to hear their stories told. Told not in a monolithic sense but in a broad encompassing sense across black diaspora where it focuses on all parts of our culture.
